For computers we charge a $50 diagnosis fee, which could be applied towards the repair.

Water Damage Restoration

Dropped it in water...now what?

Immediately turn the phone off. Do not turn it back on. Do not plug the phone into any chargers. Try to shake out as much water as you can in the opposite direction of water intrusion. If the phone was dropped in salt water rinse the phone in clear water ASAP and shake the water out. Bring the phone in to us and we will open up the phone and start the water damage restoration process.

Is it repairable? What about my pictures?

The likelihood of repair really depends on if the logic board sustained any major damage from corrosion or not. If the phone was completely submerged in salt water for 30 minutes most likely it is not repairable. If the phone got some water splashed from the waves while you are at the beach then phone is more likely to be fixable. Oftentimes with some proper cleaning we are able to retrieve those precious pictures and contacts even if the phone is not repairable.

Water Damage Restoration Process

Upon receipt of a water damaged iphone, we will open it up and perform a visual inspection to determine if the phone is repairable or not. We check to see if there are any corrosion on the logic board and on the rest of the phone. If the logic board has corrosion, the intensity of the corrosion determine if the logic board is worth the repair attempt. If the board seems to be clean of corrosion then a successful repair is more likely.

To clean the logic board, first we remove it from the phone, remove the heat shield plates, put it a heated ultrasonic bath to remove any corrosion, dirt, debris on the logic board. Our ultrasonic bath consists of a heated alkaline solution with sweeping frequencies technology for the most through cleaning possible. The board will then be placed into a desiccator to dry properly. Once the logic board has dried we will test all functions of the phone and note any issues found with the board. If the board passes our tests we will then proceed to repair the rest of the phone.
